Mastering a versatility that transcends creative
boundaries, Davison's work reflects her travels and life experiences.
Her particular strength lies in her ability to translate her focused
and careful observations of nature into organic and surprising
images. Davison paints from the heart, with a passion for color
that is evident in her popularity.
Davison's techniques include watercolor, acrylic,
mixed media, pastel, oil bar, and handcrafted gold, silver and
copper leaf projects. Her styles include contempory, abstract,
organic, botanical, floral, landscape and collage.
Karla Davision was born and raised in Loudonville,
a small town in Ohio, where her mother Barbara, gave music lessons.
At the age of seven, Karla's mother arranged private art lessons
for her in return for piano lessons. These private lessons taught
her every facet of creative art and greatly developed her talents
in all mediums. She sold her first piece of art at the age of
twelve and later earned the highest honors for her art in both
her junior and senior years.
Ms. Davison was also awarded an all-inclusive four
year scholarship by the legendary Edith Head to Chouinard Art
School, (now known as California Institute of the Arts in Los
Angeles). She continued her education at Arizona State University
studying art exclusively, majoring in Design. She rounded out
her education at the University of Arizona, studying collage,
gouache, acrylics, oils, inks and pastels.
Davison currently has her studio in Cathedral City, CA.
